We offer a wide range of high quality dermal filler treatments – delivered with the highest levels of expertise
Dermal fillers can be used for a wide range of purposes including adding volume and lift to cheeks. Treatments can instantly give extra volume and plumpness to lips and add shape to the jaw and chin area.
If you choose to use our services, your treatment will be delivered by a highly trained practitioner using the best fillers available.
Dermal fillers are soft injectable gels consisting of stabilised hyaluronic acid (HA), a biodegradable substance naturally found in the body. HA is a component of the skin that keeps it hydrated and gives it elasticity and volume.
Dermal fillers are used to restore volume and to smooth out deep static lines and wrinkles. They are used for facial aesthetic treatments and are injected into the skin. They are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalise the skin.
Fillers can also be used to define the shape of certain facial features, such as lips. The filler can act as a platform, giving more shape and definition to the lips. It also draws in water to create a plumping effect. We can use them to enhance the facial contours, accentuating features such as the cheekbones and jawline to create a more chiseled and structured face.
Dermal fillers are a gel like substance commonly used to reduce facial lines and wrinkles, to enhance natural facial features and to restore lost volume in the face. They are made form a hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body. Dermal fillers are accurately placed under the skin absorbing water to ‘plump up’ the skin to give it a more youthful look.
The dermal fillers used at Ian Birch aesthetics are of the highest quality and are of a temporary nature. If the result is not satisfactory they can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
We only work with the highest quality dermal fillers, all of which blend with the tissue under the skin creating a soft natural result that does not affect facial expression.
Dermal filler can last from 6-24 months depending on a number of factors such as; the area treated, the particular filler used and your own metabolism which will vary between individuals. The length of time stated for individual types of filler is that provided by the manufacturer as being typical rates, therefore Ian Birch Aesthetics (nor the manufacturer) cannot be held liable for the rate you, as an individual, may process the filler. Some clients still have filler after 2 years but others process filler much quicker than the typical stated time.
We assess the face artistically and only recommend treatments that are guaranteed to harmonise facial features, increase facial symmetry and add balance.
You will have an in-depth consultation with our medical practitioner prior to treatment and together you can decide on a treatment plan.
The clinician will endeavour to give you your desired outcomes from one treatment, but this is not always possible and subsequent treatments might be required, incurring additional costs.
The clinician will ensure the filler is entirely smooth when you leave the clinic, and will give instructions as to how to minimise the risk of the filler aggregating, (which clients need to follow after treatment). Unfortunately in a few cases clients only discover they are prone to process filler this way, once the lumps have developed.
The dermal fillers we offer have a local anaesthetic (lidocaine) incorporated in them to minimise discomfort. We also use a fantastic numbing cream and only start the treatment once you feel completely numb. If you are allergic to lidocaine we can use fillers that do not contain this ingredient. As a trained dentist, Dr Ian Birch is also able to use a dental blocker anaesthetic, if necessary.
The procedures take from 20 minutes, depending on the complexity or volumes of filler needed.
